The Nuclear AMRC vision has been embraced by UK companies.

A recent statement by Humphrey Cadoux-Hudson, EDF Energy’s Managing Director of Nuclear New Build, has endorsed the Nuclear AMRC:

EDF Energy wholeheartedly supports the aims and objectives of NAMRC in its work to prepare and develop the UK Supply Chain for the Nuclear New Build Programme.

Our own vision for the future Supply Chain is one which strives for the highest standards in safety, quality, schedule and cost and one which is predictable in its delivery of these standards. We see NAMRC ‘s role as a pivotal one in helping the UK supply chain to benchmark their capabilities and in so doing better understand what actions and upskilling they may need to put in place to meet the rigorous standards required for these projects so that they can actively participate in their delivery

Our own new build programme is focussing on delivering nuclear new build at both Hinkley Point and Sizewell. The engagement of UK suppliers for both of these sites is a key part of our strategy and we intend to utilise the local supply chains where they meet our Safety and Quality standards. We are already engaging with UK companies through suppliers’ forums and are working with Chambers of Commerce and Local Authorities to better understand the capability and capacity of UK companies.
